Fall 2016 General Meeting Agenda

A reminder that Local 613 will be having a festive holiday party/general meeting November 30th.  Details can be found here.

There will be food and presents.  Here’s the agenda (presents will be drawn periodically throughout the evening):

  1. Approval of last meeting’s minutes
  2. Elections for empty Executive positions for PRRA, St. Clair Citizenship, and Queen’s Plate IRB (if necessary)
  3. Presentation of Local finances for member approval
  4. Updating Local bylaw 4.1 (old vs new below)
  5. Update on negotiations
  6. Discussion around what strike pay could be (note: this is not a sign that we will be striking, we’re just being prepared)
  7. Throwing around your political might
  8. Open floor

Here’s the current Local Bylaw 4.1:

The Local Executive of Local 613 shall consist of a President, Vice- President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a VP-Point of Service for each Local Union Management Coordinating Committee (LUMCC). The Vice-president or Secretary positions can be combined with the Treasurer if there are not enough candidates for election.

Here’s the proposed change (changes underlined):

The Local Executive of Local 613 shall consist of a President, Vice- President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a VP-Point of Service for each separate office within each management area covered by the Local. The Vice-president or Secretary positions can be combined with the Treasurer if there are not enough candidates for election.

Reason for the change: currently the bylaws do not reflect what was intended when they were originally written and do not currently reflect how the Local Executive has been constructed.
